Seniors enjoyed event given by Bethel JayceesCourtesy of The Danbury News Times Yes, Santa Claus does bring an astounding number of packages of joy and wonderment, but his whole sleighful couldn’t hold a candle to the load of happiness delivered by the Bethel Jaycees at their March 2 Senior Swing Dinner Dance. If I were to attempt to describe each facet of the event, you would think I was simply on a sugar high and completely devoid of judgment and objectivity, so I’ll touch on a few. The fruit cup wasn’t a cup at all, but a bowl holding enough for two people. The melon balls must have been scooped seconds before serving. The pineapple had to take longer to prepare because it was fresh pineapple. Dinner was absolutely delicious and included a wonderful sauce on the veggies with mushrooms. How good can it get? The music and dancing was actually a starry trip through time back to our twentysomething years. If you didn’t swing and sway on the dance floor, you swayed in your chair at the table. Prizes came in three separate waves of fun, and winners were determined by a drawing from the pool of free raffle tickets. Thank you, Bethel Jaycees, for our ride on cloud nine! Louis A. Godkin |
